About the practice

A surgeon at the intersection of medicine and the law.

PORTRAIT FORTHCOMING
Headshot will be supplied by the practice. Black & white, magazine-style.

Clarus OMS Advisors was founded by a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon whose clinical practice spans more than two decades of trauma, reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, and outpatient anesthesia. The advisory practice was opened in response to a recurring request from counsel, insurers, and DSOs: clear surgical opinion, written by someone who still operates, free of the academic-only voice that dominates expert directories.

The work is independent. Engagements are accepted from plaintiff and defense counsel without preference; opinions are written from the record forward, not from an assumed conclusion. When the medicine in a matter does not support an opinion, that is communicated early and in writing, before depositions are scheduled.

The advisory work is conducted alongside an active surgical practice — not in retirement from one. The clinical context matters: standards of care evolve, instruments change, billing codes shift. An expert who has not operated within the last twelve months is a research expert. Clarus is not that.

The questions the matter turns on rarely look like the questions the brief was written around. The work is to find them. — Clarus OMS Advisors
